Where should I take her on the first date? Here at Pimp My Profile, we get this question a lot. And for good reason, it’s a make or break question before you’ve even set foot out the door.

There is no set formula for this. It depends upon the conversation and communications leading up to the date.

Equally, it depends on your shared interests, what you like to do, and how much you’re prepared to spend on that first meeting.

If you’re a serial dater, the likelihood is that a simple coffee or a drink will work best for you. It’s cheap, easy, and can give you the opportunity to see if you click before you go all out trying to impress. Equally, people feel less pressure about going for coffee or a quick drink and are more likely to agree to this style of date. People are also much more spontaneous with this style of date and can agree to go without much conversation leading up.

The downside of this type of date is it doesn’t do much to impress. Equally, if you’ve shared some great conversation and have been talking for a while, a coffee might seem a little underwhelming. That doesn’t mean to say you have to go ball’s out and take her to Paris on the first date. Just try to come up with something fun and quirky. Think of something to do that she hasn’t been to before and you’ll be sure to impress.

We have been providing online dating coaching for over 5 years, so to help give you some ideas here’s some of the best first dates that have worked for our clients:

1 – Salsa dancing – What? Put your dancing shoes on before you even share a drink. Trust us. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have moves like John Travolta. It’ll be fun, cool and show off your adventurous side.

2 – The zoo – Every girl loves to see the cutest little creatures. Guaranteed win.

3 – Art museum – Show off your cultural side and impress with your intellectual nature. This may sound a little dull if you’re not an art lover, but it will give you a great opportunity to talk and really get to know each other.

4 – Wine tasting – This can be a real winner. Its fun, drinks involved (loosen up your nerves!) but easy going and sociable.

5 – Comedy night – For the real risk takers. This can go two ways, hit or miss. But if it’s a hit, it’ll be a night to remember.
